Gas station burgled for 3rd time in a year

More than $10,000 worth of merchandise, primarily vaping supplies, was stolen from the Gas ‘N Go on in Lemon Creek on April 16, according to a Juneau Police Department release.

“Every case is different,” said Lt. Jeremy Weske. “Some are more difficult to solve than others.”

The suspect or suspects also caused roughly $5,000 in damage breaking through the door of the gas station. The suspects triggered an alarm at roughly 3 a.m., initiating a JPD response, according to the department.

“It’s hard to hide something super-unique,” Weske said. “You hope someone sees it and comes forward to say something.”

The last break-in at the business, occurring on Dec. 31, 2019, involved three suspects using a rock to break through a window before stealing the same manner of merchandise, primarily e-cigarette liquid. The suspects were never identified or arrested.

Before the December break in, the Gas ‘N Go had been broken into roughly seven months before.
