MONROE – At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Stevenson, along with Monroe and Stepney firefighters were called out for a quickly moving brush fire at the Henny Penny gas station on Route 34.
The fire was quickly knocked down and extinguished.
The units on scene were Chiefs 351, 352 and 353 along with Brush 310, Engines 302 and 301 and Tanker 315.
“Even with all the rain lately, it’s dry and windy outside,” firefighters posted on Facebook.
“Be careful where you throw cigarette butts and what you do with campfires, especially on these windy days.”
