Oswego police and firefighters are on the scene of a broken gas main in the area of Fayette Drive and Cardinal Avenue in the village’s Churchill Club subdivision.

In a post on their Facebook page, police said some houses have been evacuated while the main is being repaired.

“The Fire Department advised there may be a strong smell of natural gas throughout a larger area due to the wind today but it does not pose a safety hazard,” police said in their post.
